Go Dance Studios is based in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, and boasts its own building with three fully-mirrored dance studios equipped with specialist floors and ballet barres, cafe and reception area.
Running for over thirty years, we teach a full range of dance genres to a vast age range. From introducing young children to dance as a hobby, to training teachers and preparing students for careers in the industry, pupils become part of a very active and friendly school.
The Michelle Cooper School of Dancing was founded by Principal Michelle Cooper on 4th November 1982. Michelle started teaching in Lincoln, Dunston, Metheringham and Ruskington in village halls, training a nationally competitive freestyle team, who at the height of their success were among the top five teams in the country.
The school continued to grow throughout the 1990's, putting pupils through exams and shows in all styles of dance including Ballroom, Latin, Tap, Freestyle, Cheer, Ballet & Hip Hop. Finally finding its own premises in Sleaford, the school made Go Dance Studios its home in 2001.
Over the past twelve years, the school at Go Dance has grown in size, reputation and an increasingly high standard due to a high calibre of specialist, professional teachers and a buzzing, friendly atmosphere.
The school's work includes providing dance as a fun hobby to children, putting pupils through accredited exams, running performance opportunities for all at local displays as well as in professional theatres, running specialist projects, providing outreach sessions in school communities, training dance teachers, and nurturing aspiring young dancers.
Go Dance has recently been granted Recognised School status by the Council for Dance Education and Training. In this, it's 36th year, Michelle never dreamed it would be the successful school it is today.
"We can all dance, it’s in us all. There can’t be many people out there that have not at some point given it their all, either on the dance floor or behind closed doors with no-one looking. Dancing is a fabulous way of keeping fit, great for coordination, it keeps the memory active and is also the best stress buster I know.
So if you fancy modelling yourself on ‘Strictly’, working on your posture and flexibility or just fancy getting fit in a fun environment, check out our adult dance fitness classes and dance courses. There is something for everyone whether you are a beginner or have experience. Make it part of your life!"
Under the tutelage of our fabulous principal Michelle Cooper, all of our teachers are trained to the highest standards and we pride ourselves on being friendly and welcoming in a truly professional manner, enabling our pupils to learn and develop through regular accredited examinations, showcases in professional theatres and outreach performances enhancing their dance experience and turning our pupils into well rounded young adults by the time they leave us.
Indeed, a number of our current teachers are ex-pupils who have benefitted from our Teacher Training programme!
